Scope

The committee is appointed by the Board of Directors and reports directly to the Board. The committee is to provide assistance in establishing and enforcing community recreational standards in the realm of the association's recreational equipment.

Goal

The goal of the committee is to preserve the recreational resources of the development.

Organization

The committee shall consist of a Chairperson, a Co-Chair and an adequate number of members to cover the committee's responsibilities.

Responsibilities of the Committee

• Recommend a recreational equipment maintenance program to the Board which reflects the desires and requirements of the community.
• Prepare a maintenance budget for the Board's consideration.
• Recommend major improvements and additions to the recreational equipment, such as additional pool equipment, etc. for the Board's consideration.
• Regularly inspect recreational equipment, note problems and report to the Board any recommendations for corrective action.
• Review bids and or contracts for recreational equipment maintenance, check references, interview contractors, and make recommendations to the Board.
• Review long-range recreational equipment maintenance needs and recommend a capital repair and replacement program to the Board.

Responsibility of the Chair

• Keep a record of committee meetings in the form of minutes.
• Keep a file of acceptable additions or alterations for use by the committee or individual members.
• Inform the Board as required of any matters within the realm of the committee's responsibilities which need immediate attention.

Reports

A written report to the Board and membership, as required, to keep them abreast of changes, developments, and the committee activity.

Meetings

Chair or appointed representative to attend regularly scheduled Board meetings. Committee meetings, as required, to carry out the committee's responsibilities. Minutes are to be kept of each meeting and will be provided upon written request.
